Cycling hundreds of kilometres to advocate for rare disease patients. Helping kids in the local community learn to read. Fundraising for disaster relief. The contributions of Genzyme employees are as varied as their interests and reflect their passion for making a difference in the world – the same passion they bring to their work each day.
As a company, Genzyme is dedicated to empowering our employees to contribute, whether by volunteering their time, fundraising for a cause, or making a charitable donation. Over the years we've established numerous company-sponsored initiatives to encourage employee involvement, including cycling the MS Gong Ride to support Multiple Sclerosis patients, reading programs with local schools, fundraising drives for humanitarian relief, and others.

Genzyme continues to support the MS community through commitment, engagement, transparency and advocacy – just some of the core values that define the company.
In 2013, the Genzyme Cyclopaths raised over $54,000 for MS support by participating in the annual MS Australia Sydney to Wollongong bike ride, also known as the 90km MS Gong Ride.
On 3 November, 32 employees, family, friends and health care partners braved the elements and the wild Australian terrain for a good cause and set off, cycling as a team, to raise awareness for MS.
In 2013 the Cyclopaths raised almost double from their fantastic 2012 effort of $27,000 for the Australian MS community. Committed to MS patients, the team is back in training gearing up for the 2014 challenge.
